Hello, and welcome to Keto RD! My name is Caroline, and I’m a registered dietitian and graduate student. During the course of my doctoral studies, I’ve developed an interest in ketogenic diets, particularly as an adjunctive therapy for gynecologic cancers (i.e., ovarian and endometrial). Ketogenic–that is, high-fat, low-carbohydrate, and moderate protein–diets have gained a lot of popularity in recent years, and while there is growing research evidence of these diets’ benefits, that science-based information is not always what is disseminated on popular blogs and websites. Accordingly, I’ve decided to create this space, where I can share accurate information to facilitate success on a ketogenic diet, whether your end goal is to lose weight, manage diabetes, or minimize chemotherapy side effects–and you won’t have to worry that I’m just trying to sell you a supplement.

A bit more background on me: I am married and have a 15-month-old son, along with two Jack Russell Terriers and a cat. I am not new to blogging in that I managed a healthy living blog called The Broccoli Hut for close to 10 years. It began as an online food diary of a vegan college student and evolved into a space where I shared everything from recipes to reflections on my dietetic internship year to photo collages of my first pregnancy. Needless to say, blogging became an important means of expression for me, which is partially why I’m returning to it now.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, and please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!
